D.C. Center to Give Support to Gay, Transgender Latinos


Casa Ruby, a community resource for LGBT Latinos, will celebrate its grand opening from noon to 8 p.m. on June 6. The opening ceremony, held 4-6 p.m., will include remarks by Roxana Olivas, director of the D.C. Office on Latino Affairs.

Run by the nonprofit Latinos-as En Accion, Casa Ruby will offer HIV and STD testing, job training and referrals, assistance with partner violence and substance abuse issues, clothing and hot meals.
