David Wicks, Cable Positive Board Member, Dies

David Wicks, a financier and HIV/AIDS advocate, died December 30 of complications from heart surgery, The New York Times (NYT) reports. He was 70.

Wicks had been vice president of Cablevision Systems Corporation. He also was chairman of the former cable and telecommunications HIV/AIDS nonprofit charity Cable Positive from 2004 to 2008.

Wicks leveraged his influence to muster support for Cable Positive and HIV/AIDS issues throughout the industry.
