Atlanta Case Manager Gets 15 Years in HIV Medicaid Scam

George Boyd, an Atlanta nonprofit worker who volunteered to help people with HIV and then used their personal information to defraud Georgia’s Medicaid program, was sentenced to three years in prison, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (AJC) reports.

Boyd provided case management to HIV-positive clients at Northwest Ministry Inc., an organization that provides support services for homeless and economically disadvantaged individuals and families, where he scammed Medicaid of more than $300,000 and falsified patient charts to hide his crime.

Boyd will spend three years of his 15-year sentence in prison and will pay a restitution of $284,000.
