U.K. Warns Against HIV Home Testing Kits Sold Online

Illegal HIV home testing kits imported from China to the United Kingdom for sale online could give an incorrect diagnosis, reports The Independent.

The Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency plans to shut down six U.K.-based websites that have sold these kits. Almost 500 people have already bought the kits.

The sites also sold noncompliant home testing devices for other sexually transmitted infections, including hepatitis, gonorrhea, chlamydia and syphilis.
