Middlesex County, N.J., will receive
slightly more than $1 million in federal funds for its Ryan White HIV/AIDS
program targeting low-income individuals and families living with HIV/AIDS.
Announcing the funding on February
21, Rep. Frank Pallone Jr. (D-N.J.) stated that since New Jersey ranks high in
the United States in numbers of reported HIV/AIDS cases, the funding for the
Ryan White program of Middlesex would provide critical support for the medical
care and other services for individuals living with HIV/AIDS that have no means
of paying for services.
The Ryan White HIV/AIDS program is
the largest federal program targeted specifically for individuals with HIV/AIDS
in the United States and works with city, state, and local community-based
organizations to provide services to more than 500,000 individuals with
HIV/AIDS each year.
The Friends of AIDS Foundation is
dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for HIV positive individuals and
empowering people to make healthy choices to prevent the spread of the HIV
virus. To learn more about The Friends of AIDS Foundation, please visit: http://www.friendsofaids.org.
