Emory to Help Effort to Find Vaccine for HIV/AIDS


Emory University will receive about $7 million to support its work in a national effort to develop an HIV/AIDS vaccine. The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases is funding the seven-year, $186 million initiative backing the new Centers for HIV/AIDS Vaccine Immunology and Immunogen Discovery.

Scripps Research Institute and Duke University are directing the effort, which will be supported by scientists from Emory, the Rockefeller University/Howard Hughes Medical Institute, and the Ragon Institute.
