Oregon Gets $3.6 Million for HIV and AIDS Housing Programs

The US Department of Housing and Urban Development's Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS program on Tuesday announced 29 grant awards totaling $30.2 million.

Oregon received three grants with a combined value of $3.6 million. Our House of Portland received $1 million, which it will use to provide 14 units of facility-based housing and nine units of Tenant-Based Rental Assistance. It will help 30 households annually; six also will receive permanent housing placement. The Oregon Department of Human Services' behavioral health department was awarded $1.2 million, while its re-entry department received $1.3 million. ODHS will use the money to offer Tenant-Based Rental Assistance to 65 households. The grants are renewable for three years.
