AIDS Alabama Scores $880,000 Housing Grant

Birmingham-based AIDS Alabama Inc. has been awarded a grant of $879,963 to offer housing assistance for people with HIV/AIDS.

The funds are provided by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development's Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS program. In addition, Anniston's Health Services Center Inc. received $861,224. "A stable home can make all the difference to the well-being of these families, many of whom have been homeless or at extreme risk of homelessness," said the grant award announcement from Shaun Donovan, HUD's secretary.
