On April 25, the fifth annual
International AIDS/HIV fundraiser Dining Out for Life will be held in the
Kalamazoo, Mich. area. Thirty-five restaurants in Kalamazoo, Battle Creek,
Plainwell, Three Rivers, and Paw Paw will participate by donating at least 25
percent of their sales to Community AIDS Resource and Education Services
(CARES), a local AIDS/HIV support organization that assists individuals in
southwest Michigan.
The CARES organization works to
reduce the risk of HIV and improve life for those individuals already infected
with the disease by offering services such as free HIV testing, education, and
connections to local support groups. Director of Operations for CARES, Amy
Bartell, hopes area residents will show support by visiting these
community-supporting businesses.
