On April 9, the Alliance for Housing
and Healing, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit, hosted its annual gala to raise
funds that help the Alliance provide food and housing for impoverished people
with HIV/AIDS.
The annual gala, called “A Faire of
the Heart,” was held at the Beverly Hills Hotel, where Hal Sparks, a Queer As
Folk actor, served as the master of ceremonies.
Oscar-winner Cloris Leachman was
presented with the Celebrity Trailblazer Award to honor her work as a
pioneering woman in the world of film, television, and comedy.
Dr. Phillip Musikanth received the
Alliance Humanitarian Award for treating patients with HIV and AIDS for 25
years.
The group honored Laurie Hasencamp,
Esq. with the Visionary Award, for her service and commitment to the
HIV-positive and LGBT communities.
The Friends of AIDS Foundation is
