West Covina Resident Stands With Fellow UCLA Students for Pediatric HIV/AIDS Awareness

University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) student Brianna Ramirez is pledging to stand for 26 hours for the university’s 12th annual dance marathon, which will raise awareness for pediatric HIV/AIDS.

The student-led Pediatric AIDS Coalition is organizing the event, which will take place February 16 and 17 at the Ackerman Grand Ballroom, 308 Westwood Plaza in Los Angeles.

Each contestant for the marathon must raise $250 to participate; all raised funds will go to the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, the UCLA AIDS Institute, and Project Kindle—a free camp for children affected by AIDS.

To date, the organizing committee has more than 1,000 dancers signed up for the event. The organization has raised $3 million since the event’s inception. For further information, visit: http://www.bruindancemarathon.org.
