Twin States Network Receives State Grant for AIDS prevention

The Vermont Department of Health’s Agency of Human Services has provided a $45,000 grant to the Twin States Network for their CLEAR project, which provides one-on-one counseling for HIV-infected Vermont residents.

CLEAR (Choose Life: Empowerment, Action, Results!) is a CDC intervention program with specific set goals, including developing daily routines that will optimize physical and mental health in partnership with medical providers; addressing substance abuse; and developing consistent ways to practice safe sex. One-on-one counseling sessions for individuals occur with a trained service/registered mental health provider and can be in person, by telephone, or via Skype.

The CLEAR sessions are from six to 28 visits long, depending on goals set by the client and provider.

The Friends of AIDS Foundation is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for HIV positive individuals and empowering people to make healthy choices to prevent the spread of the HIV virus. To learn more about The Friends of AIDS Foundation, please visit: http://www.friendsofaids.org.
