The Media Studies Department at
Georgia’s Paine College will commemorate National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS
Awareness Day by hosting an HIV/AIDS Awareness Forum.
Skyy Banks, ambassador for the
Georgia Red Pump Project, will be the featured speaker. The event will take
place March 8, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. in Paine College’s Candler Memorial Library
Ballroom.
After the lecture, event organizers
will invite all interested attendees to be photographed on the red carpet, with
the subsequent image becoming a part of the national support day activities.
The annual nationwide observance of
National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day on March 10 illuminates
information about the disease and encourages all to take action and share
knowledge in a variety of ways; event organizers urge attendees to use social
media platforms to share the HIV/AIDS impact on women and girls.
For more information about the
forum, please contact Tracy V. Council, assistant professor of television
broadcast and film, at tcouncil@paine.edu.
