Greater Vincennes AIDS Walk Planned

Dr. Derek Brown, of Paoli, Ind., and a graduate of Vincennes University (VU), is serving as the Honorary Chair of the 4th Annual VU Greater Vincennes AIDS Walk.
The event will take place on March 23 at 2:00 p.m. at the VU Student Recreation Center, in Vincennes, Ind., with free HIV testing beginning at noon.

Testing positive for HIV in 1994, Dr. Brown has worked for a nonprofit agency called H.E.L.P. (Health Education Learning Project.) in Fort Worth, Texas, in which he spoke to high school teens about living with AIDS. He moved back to the Midwest two years ago, and is focusing on making people aware that HIV/AIDS is not gone. Through the AIDS Walk, Dr. Brown hopes to reach at-risk people and provide them with health education and prevention information.

People can donate online, form a team at http://www.VincennesAIDSWalk.org, or send checks to AIDS Walk c/o VU Student Activities, 1002 N. 1st Street, Vincennes, IN 47591.
