AID Atlanta Launches New Website, Video Series Aimed at Gay Men

AID Atlanta has kicked off a new web-based outreach, “Go Atlanta,” which centralizes its Gay Men’s Outreach work and offers new tools to raise HIV awareness.

The site features videos spotlighting local men in familiar city settings. “We’re looking at the videos as a gay ‘Sex in the City,’” said Steven Igarashi, the agency’s gay men’s outreach coordinator. “Everyone in the videos are local people who donated their time to us. They’re shot in locations that we think gay men will recognize, like Ansley Mall and Piedmont Park.”

The initiative’s easy accessibility via the web is a big advantage for men who are too busy to attend events in person or reluctant to be seen at AID Atlanta’s office. “It takes away the need to actually be somewhere,” Igarashi said.
