Development of National AIDS Strategy Enters the Final Stretch

The Obama Administration's National HIV/AIDS Strategy (NHAS) will be a concise set of priorities and targeted initiatives, aimed as much at the American public--increasingly complacent about the epidemic--as the federal decision-makers whose more coordinated, streamlined approaches will be needed to achieve better results, said White House Office of National AIDS Policy (ONAP) Director Jeff Crowley, speaking to AIDS advocates recently.

Development of the plan has entered the final phase. Crowley and his ONAP colleagues are working on the Strategy with officials from relevant federal agencies who comprise the Interagency Work Group and members of the President's Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS (PACHA).

The Friends of AIDS Foundation is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for HIV positive individuals and empowering people to make healthy choices to prevent the spread of the HIV virus. To learn more about The Friends of AIDS Foundation, please visit: http://www.friendsofaids.org.
