Recently, the Cummings Foundation
chose Boston nonprofit Victory Programs as one of 100 local nonprofit
organizations to receive $100,000 from the foundation’s new $100K for 100
programs.
Victory Programs serves individuals
and families affected by homelessness, drug and alcohol addiction, mental
illness, and chronic illnesses. The Cummings Foundation chose Victory Programs
from among 370 applicants; Victory plans to use its grant to support the Boston
Living Center, a community resource center for people with HIV/AIDS.
The foundation selected local
charities from areas where Cummings Properties manages buildings, to give back
to the communities where the grant funds were raised. Some of the other
recipients focus on education, healthcare, homelessness, and social justice.
The Friends of AIDS Foundation is
dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for HIV positive individuals and
empowering people to make healthy choices to prevent the spread of the HIV
virus.
