University of New Mexico regents approved
a new lease for the UNM’s Truman Street Health Clinic. The clinic, which
specializes in HIV/AIDS care, offers medical and behavioral health care and
social services for youths and adults with chronic infectious diseases.
Its current space at 625 Truman N.E.
has 4,500 square feet and costs $66,690 in rent annually. The new location on
Encino offers 9,323 square feet and will cost slightly more than $165,000 a
year, according to a proposal. The proposal also says the rent is expected to
rise during the nine years of the lease.
The new facility will feature nine
examination rooms, offices for a doctor and staff members, a pharmacy, and
conference and consulting space. The transition to the new clinic is expected
in July.
