OraSure's First-ever Home HIV Test Now on Store Shelves

OraQuick—the OraSure Technologies rapid-results oral swab HIV test—is now available for direct in-home use at more than 30,000 retailers nationwide, including CVS and Walgreens, as well as on the company’s website.

“For the first time ever, individuals now have access to an in-home rapid oral HIV test-the same test healthcare professionals have used and trusted for years—that will empower them to learn their HIV status in the comfort and privacy of their own home,” announced Douglas A. Michels, OraSure’s president and CEO. The company also offers consumers round-the-clock comprehensive web and live support and referral services.

Michels added that the company hopes to make the test globally available in the next two to three years and hopes to launch a similar test for hepatitis C in the near future.
