Community Servings, The Jamaica
Plain, Massachusetts nonprofit, has received $50,000 in funding from Newman’s
Own Foundation. The award to the nonprofit, which serves meals to those
diagnosed with HIV/AIDS and other chronic illnesses, was made as part of
Newman’s Own Foundation’s nutrition-related funding initiative.
The award will allow Community
Servings to develop a program titled the “Family Nutrition Initiative,” which
will encompass a series of nutrition education workshops for children and
family members targeted to those who have newly transitioned to housing.
The Friends of AIDS Foundation is
dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for HIV positive individuals and
empowering people to make healthy choices to prevent the spread of the HIV
