Emory HIV Team Lands $6 M Gates Foundation Grant

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation recently awarded a $6 million grant to researchers at Emory University to find an effective HIV/AIDS vaccine.

The grant was part of the Collaboration for AIDS Vaccine Discovery, an international network of researchers working on a variety of HIV vaccination candidates with the goal of advancing the most promising candidates.

Dr. Bali Pulendran will lead the Emory team, which includes researchers from the Emory Vaccine Center and the Yerkes National Primate Research Center.

The Friends of AIDS Foundation is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for HIV positive individuals and empowering people to make healthy choices to prevent the spread of the HIV virus. To learn more about The Friends of AIDS Foundation, please visit: http://www.friendsofaids.org.
