Ryan White Program to Address HIV/AIDS in the Mid-South

A two-day conference entitled “HIV/AIDS Network 2012: Responding to Challenges in the Mid-South” gets underway March 8 at the Student-Alumni Center of the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC), 800 Madison Ave. in Memphis.

“The Memphis Ryan White Program is confident that the information provided during these two days will continue to strengthen the network of medical and support services available to people living with HIV, as well as empower those living with and affected by HIV,” said Dorcas Young, program manager for the Ryan White Program, which is sponsoring the meeting with UTHSC.

“It is going to take the different segments of the community partnering together to successfully address issues surrounding HIV,” Young said. “We are hopeful that these two days will energize us all around this goal.”

Up to 150 health care and social service providers, as well as community partners and other individuals, are expected to attend. The registration fee is $35; scholarships are available for people living with HIV.
