Under the auspices of the nonprofit Rapid Results Institute, companies in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, have raised HIV testing rates among their employees to 75 percent, or three times the average rate, The New York Times reports.
Rapid Results programs aim to achieve community goals in 100 days or less by stimulating leadership and motivation among local workers and residents.
Other recent Rapid Results programs in Africa include an AIDS prevention campaign in which 40,000 Kenyan men were circumcised to reduce their risk of contracting HIV.
The Friends of AIDS Foundation is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for HIV positive individuals and empowering people to make healthy choices to prevent the spread of the HIV virus. To learn more about The Friends of AIDS Foundation, please visit: http://www.friendsofaids.org.
