Free HIV/AIDS Testing in Illinois

In recognition of National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day on Feb. 7, the Lake County Health Department will offer free HIV testing from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at three locations: in Waukegan, at the Belvidere Medical Building, 2400 Belvidere Rd., and at the Grand Avenue Health Center, 3010 Grand Ave.; and in North Chicago, at the North Chicago Health Center, 2215 14th St. According to the department, blacks represent about 8 percent of the county's population but almost 43percent of its HIV/AIDS cases.
